Are you ready? Yes I'm ready...

Running really hasn't been going well, I have been out a couple of times the first week and the second week I hit the gym a couple times however the past week I went out once and only ran 4k before retiring to my desk however I really feel that a good routine of running might help clear my head.

Another week at school and all I can think about is type and colour, I'm not joking in the evenings on my way home from school I'm looking at advertisements naming the font and trying to guess the point size and the other night I woke myself up at 3am in the morning sleep talking about type lock ups. By friday evening my brain was frazzled and even this weekend I don't feel like I have switched off which isn't a bad thing but I do think that running really helps me to clear everything out at the end of the day.
I spoke to a pal last night who agreed and then we listened to this song and I thought thats it, that is the new running song. I have written out this week with what I need to do and what nights it is best to run, I'm hoping I will get back to the point when I feel odd if I don't run each day as that was great, I was so motivated to run and beat targets I was smashing kilometres out every week.

I have however had a lovely weekend and spent the day with key playa Lizzie Brown, we galavanted around the V&A discussing whether anything we ever did would be original. I love the V&A not just for the exhibitions but the building is absolutely beautiful. After a couple of hours, a browse of the giftshop and feeling pretty inspired we decided to treat ourselves to some exquisite cuisine. I have been so good all week that the strudel was absolutely deserved though gonna be honest on the way home I thought I was gonna be sick, I haven't consumed that much sugar this whole year!

Today I have spent the day sorting bits and bobs and working on my visual diary swell as a quick hip hop bake off which I must update later this evening, I forgot last weeks too so its a double whammy tonight once I have a good 5k under my belt. Flyknits are on and this song is gonna get rinsed...

A playas gotta play...

So I have completed my first week at Shillington College and what a week... I have had the best time and learnt so much already. The waking up early isn't a problem for a playa like myself & most days I've been up at 5.30am with a coffee in hand. We have focused a lot on InDesign this week which is great and I've found myself looking at a lot of things  in different ways, just on my travels to school looking at ads, billboards and packaging thinking about alignment, typography and hierarchy. Although I would like to think I'm pretty creative I think the course is definitely going to open my eyes to a lot more aspects of design.

I caught the train home last night and spend the day catching up with my family and best friend Liz where we decided to galavant to Winchester for the afternoon. I had to come home to grab my car so thought make a day of it.

The obvious first stop in Winchester was The Hambledon; my favourite shop in the world. It's lucky I'm a playa on a budget else there could be trouble but I just love everything about the store from the layout, decoration, items they sell to even the flooring.  (Their displays are always a treat for the eye)

After perusing the shop we left to go for some lunch at "Pitfield London", one of our family friends James is the chef/ project manager there and I really wanted to check out the decor and food ofcourse. It certainly disappoint, anyone who loves interiors as much as Liz and I would strongly enjoy a visit. The cage is surrounded by quirky interior items, Scandinavian cards and homeware bits such as candles, napkins and cushions.
We both opted for the winter vegetable and chickpea salad with a cup of earl grey. I am an absolute sucker for a good cup, table, plate combination and Pitfield is a sure contender for my new favourite place to eat/hang out.

I also accidentally may have acquired another treat for my feet, not that they need them but I had to exchange some Kostons that were too big and also wanted to poo in and see my playas at Size?

Thought I would roll with something I know I like so I welcome the grey 574 sonic treats to the full time playa collection. And to end this exquisite day of galavanting a cup of tea with Sarah and Pete. What a dreamy saturday.

100k January

Wow so I went all confident writing our names and days on the whiteboard at our house, titled "100k January" and popped to the gym this morning to be hit in the face with a big shocker.
After a mountain of mince pies, turkey, brandy cream and chocolate Santa my 5k time was so appalling I can't even post it, lets just say I was at the gym the best part of an hour and left a very sweaty mess. I'm pretty upset about this however I'm not letting it get me down, it's just a number. It has also given me the kick up the ass I needed, if I want to run a half marathon this year there is no time for slacking. So as mentioned the target stands at 100k for the month and I will be dragging my ass there every day until I got my time back down to 24 minutes.
Pete tells me he is very competitive which could be a good thing to spur me on to out run him on the regular. It's back to serious running and serious club bangers to get me going. I'm ready to smash it.
